We are in a battle between good and evil. A never-ending assault to form, shape, and mold us into the likeness of this lost and dark world. We have only one way to escape becoming just like this world:
"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the RENEWING OF YOUR MIND that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:2 KJV)
We choose to think like God by the renewing of our mind. We can change from depressed to joyful, from fat to fit, and from broke to prosperous. In Glory Days, Max Lucado says, "The key to spiritual growth is not increased by church attendance or involvement in spiritual activities. People do not grow in Christ because they are busy at church. They grow in Christ when they read and trust their Bibles." Doing good things isn't a replacement for growth. We cannot discern spiritual truth with a carnal mind.
Our spiritual sensitivity increases when get to know God's Word and how He thinks. We gain wisdom, taught by direct revelation through the Spirit, and our thinking transforms. So in order to break free from the world's system and it's way of thinking, we must choose sides. God's way or the world's way. Real, lasting change is only found in the eternal truths of God's Word. So take a Scripture, look at it, read it out loud, meditate on it, and watch a new you begin to emerge.
